Porterville house was site of poltergeist activity during the 1980's

For several weeks in 1984, a residence in the small town of Porterville (situated in Tulare County) was privy to poltergeist activity. The occurrences in the single story house, built in 1979, started when the resident couple's granddaughter came for a visit.

Most of the activity occurred in the hall and a bedroom closet the daughter was staying in. Tapping noises were heard coming from inside the walls as well as strange voices. The incidences continued for several days without any explanation.

Finally a group of paranormal investigators were called in to determine what was going on. They were able to conclude that the poltergeist activity was the result of the spirit of the granddaughter's twin sister, who had died at the age of five from virulent cancer.

After the granddaughter left the residence, the activity stopped and there hasn't been anything reported since. No one knows why this one visit sparked the activity in this small house in Porterville.

Weird Fresno on the Dirty Dowdy Podcast

On Wednesday, May 12th, I had the privilege to be on the Dirty Dowdy podcast to discuss all things paranormal in the Fresno area. For those of you that haven't heard the Dirty Dowdy podcast (seriously you haven't listened? WTF?), it's a Fresno weekly podcast done by Chris Dowdy and they have a variety of guests on the show.

Chris had asked me to be on the show as several of the members were interested in the paranormal and wanted to share some stories. For the first part of the show I told them my first encounter with a ghost at my mother's old house and also the story of how I heard the two little girls in the cemetery laughing. Then I was told a story of a homemade Ouija board and actually got someone calling in with a question.

The rest of the show was insane to say the least, especially when Rash from New Rock 104 got into a very heated discussion with Ricky Ingles and yours truly was in the middle. Though I think I solved the debate when I interjected pro wrestling into the mix.

Overall I had a great time and hopefully will be back sometime in October when the "season" starts. Until then you can click here to listen to the podcast or you can also download it on iTunes.

Have aliens hijacked the Voyager 2 spacecraft?

It left Earth 33 years ago, now it's claimed the Voyager 2 spacecraft may have been hijacked by aliens after sending back data messages NASA scientists can't decode.

NASA installed a 12-inch disk containing music and greetings in 55 languages in case intelligent extraterrestrial life ever found it.

But now the spacecraft is sending back what sounds like an answer: Signals in an unknown data format!

The best scientific minds have so far not been able to decipher the strange information – is it a secret message?

Alien expert Hartwig Hausdorf said:"It seems almost as if someone had reprogrammed or hijacked the probe – thus perhaps we do not yet know the whole truth"

Engineers are working to solve the data transmissions from the Voyager 2 spacecraft near the edge of the solar system, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said today.

The spacecraft late last month began sending science data 8.6 billion miles to Earth in a changed format that mission managers could not decode.

Engineers have since instructed Voyager 2 to only transmit data on its own health and status while they work on the problem.

Launched in 1977, Voyager 2 and its twin, Voyager 1, explored the giant planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune and kept on going. Nearly 33 years later, they are the most distant human-made objects.

Voyager 1 is 10.5 billion miles from Earth and in about five years is expected to pass through the heliosphere, a bubble the sun creates around the solar system, and enter interstellar space.

Voyager 2 will follow after that.

Over one hundred Bigfoot sightings reported in Southern California annually

A still taken from the Patterson-Gimlin
that was shot in 1967.

More than 100 reports of Sasquatch sightings are made every year in Southern California, and local members of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Association say they are frustrated that a reported Sasquatch capture in Georgia turned out to be yet another man in a monkey suit, it was reported Saturday.

"These people who conspired to make this hoax brought all the research down, in my opinion," said Palmdale resident Richard Hucklebridge in an interview with the Daily News.

"It kind of upset me," he told the newspaper. "We've been at this for years now and we're trying to prove these things are real."

Hucklebridge said Bigfoots living in the Los Angeles County mountains have "a bad attitude" and are hiding because target shooters take potshots at them.

A policeman in Georgia was fired last week, and he and his partner were sued by a California Bigfoot researcher, after they accepted $50,000 from the Californian to tell their story of a reported recovery of Bigfoot remains.

Branded a myth and superstition by scientists, Sasquatch lives on in popular belief, with more than 20 percent of Americans believing that Bigfoot is real, according to a Baylor University professor quoted by the Daily News.

Hucklebridge, a retired jet engine mechanic from Palmdale, told the paper he believes at least 12 Bigfoots live in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Pasadena, and that they have been spotted about 18 times since the early 1970s.

Bobbie Short, a San Diego Bigfoot Web site operator, told the Daily News that credible reports "suggest there are pockets of Sasquatch families living in and around dense tree cover, usually in higher elevations."

All credible evidence from reputable paleontologists, anthroplogists, and sociologists concludes that Bigfoot is based on a modern myth, bred by an innate need by humans to believe in something mysterious, and fed by a grainy movie shot in 1958 in Humboldt County, the first of many Sasquatch hoaxes.

But Hucklebridge scoffs at that. "The scientists won't believe until somebody comes up with a body," he told the Daily News.

The Bigfoot researcher says he is positive that the elusive mammals live in the local mountains, which are the heaviest-used National Forest in the nation, according to park rangers. That means his mission to find them must continue, he said.

"But we don't want to capture or harm them," he was quoted in the paper. "We have people who come out here and shoot at them. I know they have been shot at and hit.

"And I know it's something that gives them a bad attitude."

Triangle shaped UFO seen over Los Angeles on May 10

A California witness reported a triangle-shaped UFO with 6 lights flew over Los Angeles on May 10, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness said the object was visible in the sky for about 5 seconds.

The lights appeared to be the color of the moon. The object then seemed to "rotate or tumble" and was soon gone as it moved south.

Strange triangular shaped craft seen over Fresno

Not really sure what to make of this video. It was shot on May 3, 2010 in Fresno and as you can see from the still shot, there is a triangular shaped craft with three red lights at it's points. The craft is silent (though at the end of the video you do hear and see a plane, but it's a different configuration than the object seen at the beginning of the video). No MUFON report was filed and I'm trying to find out where the video was shot. Hopefully I can dig up some more information on what this object actually is.

New Zealand man reportedly attacked by vampires

A New Zealand man claimed he was bitten by three people who allegedly drank his blood during a vampire-style attack in the dark.

Details of the bizarre late night incident on Mount Victoria, an unlit beauty spot that overlooks the capital, Wellington, emerged after two people appeared in court jointly charged with wounding with intent to render a man unconscious.

James Phillip Brooks, 22, and Xenia Gregoriana Borichevsky, 19, were both remanded on bail without entering a plea.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a third accused, James Eric Orr, 19, who failed to appear at Wellington District Court.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in jail.

It is believed the victim, whose name has been suppressed by the court, passed out after being bitten on the night of February 20.

Outside the court, Mr Brooks said he understood there was blood drinking during the incident but added: "That wasn't me.

"Do I look like a vampire? I'm out during the daytime," he told the city's Dominion-Post newspaper.

Mr Brooks, who has a number of facial piercings and a mohawk haircut, said: "I may look like a punk but I'm not a punk. I'm just different.
"Yeah, I bit a guy. He hit on my missus. My girlfriend and my mate were biting him.

"If I'd hit him, I'd have really hurt him, so I thought I'll bite him seeing as they're already biting him."

He said drinking blood "wasn't my agenda".

Police refused to discuss the case because it is before the courts.

Ms Borichevsky's bail conditions were relaxed by the court after her lawyer asked the judge to lift a night-time curfew on her.

Dr Marc Wilson, a senior lecturer in psychology at Wellington's Victoria University, who specialises in studying paranormal beliefs, said drinking human blood was "incredibly unusual".

He said human teeth were not designed for breaking skin and sucking blood.

"You could do it but you would have to really want to."

Strange V shaped object filmed over Sacramento

This particular UFO was filmed over Sacramento on March 20, 2010. According to the person who posted the video it was filmed sometime in the evening flying over the Sacramento foothills. It's really hard to determine what this is, not sure if it's similar to the craft that was shot over Fremont. This object seems to be just floating there. Perhaps it's a balloon? Whatever the case may be, Sacramento has been a hot bed of UFO activity as of late.
