SyFy channel show airs strange video shot in Fresno

A few months ago I was contacted by a production company working on a new show for the SyFy Network. They were working on a show that investigated strange videos and they had come across the post I had done about the strange creatures that someone in Fresno had captured on CCTV. They had wanted my opinion on the video and talked for a good twenty minutes to the producer of the show.

Fast forward to last night and the episode aired. The show is called "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" and is the second episode of the show and is entitled 'Unwanted Vistors/ Strange Sightings. Now I won't go into much detail as to what they showed, but some of it was interesting. Especially the part in the woods. I have no idea where they filmed this part at or what it has to do with the original video that was shown though I imagine it was added in there for dramatic purposes. Still I've sent an e-mail to the producers and hopefully they will tell me as I'd like to investigate for myself.

For those who missed the episode last night, they have the it up on their website. Unfortunately there isn't a way to embed the video, but if you click here you can go to their site and watch the episode in full.

Personally I'm happy with the show. It's nice to see Fresno mentioned in a context that doesn't have us (mis)labeled as the drunkest city or something else of that nature. Thanks to the Beehive for pointing this out yesterday that the show was going to air.

the wooded area was Woodward park on disc golf course- there's nothing to see out there, just squirrels and rabbits, I don't understand why they were even filming way out there the house is on the eastside of town I know exactly where it's at n Woodward park is like a 15/20 minute drive from where the event occured- I believe the original footage is real but the whole story of equipment going out n cameras getting knocked over is dumb I played alot of night games out there and I've never so much as dropped a call on my cell- my battery died once but that was my own fault, I forgot to charge it- lol@ the idea those two stick things live at Woodward park but hangout on the eastside -Rasko57@gmail.com

Meh. I wasn't too impressed with the investigation once it left the homeowner's house. What were they looking for? Ghosts? Some scary mythical creature that drains batteries?

Maybe this isn't fair, but I don't exactly trust a group of "experts" who were hired for their good looks. Watching them discuss potential investigations at the start of the show made me feel like I was watching "TMZ," especially with blond, surfer-like guy Austin (the "stunt" expert) present.

Oh, and I think it was birds.

I honestly think that wooded area part was nothing more than filler as the wanted to add a bit of drama to it. I don't know why they did it, as it had nothing to do with the original video and honestly takes away a bit of credibility to the original video as the show seems to be tacking on something that has nothing to do with what was originally seen. Hopefully the producer will e-mail me back and I can get an explanation on why they decided to do that.

rask is right. Without question the "expansive wooden area" was Woodward Park. I jog there in the mornings. I recognize the trees, the mound in the background with the logs stacked against it (on the disc golf course), the pond near the dirt bike trail, even the glow of of the lights from Valley Children's Hospital in the background. While I have never seen anything "unusual" there, most Fresnans would be shocked at the amount of diverse wildlife in the area. Deer, fox, raccoons, badgers, turtles, massive bullfrogs, stray cats, lots of coyotes, insane amounts of squirrel (ground and tree), and rabbit (jack and cotton tail), all manner of birds, etc. Also, I do know that there are a lot of people at the park at night doing ALL SORTS of ..."things." I have also seen those trails, like the one they point out heading to the water. However, I have also watched the ground squirrels make them.

Yeh, I agree with you heather, I did some serious digging. Looks a lot like Heron or Egrets. But with that theory, not sure what was going on with the second one...Maybe something stuck to it like a long peice of plastic, its wings, idk....

Hi everyone, this Jeffrey with Sanger Paranormal Society....First things first....their investigation of the creatures was a joke to all Paranormal investigators...When you want to re-inact a case..measurements of the subject has to be accurate...If you take a look at the original footage, in 2007 in queen palm in the center of the yard was only 3 to 4 feet tall at best so therefor the creatures were 1 to 2 feet tall. If you want to see if someone hoaxed this then you need to recreate puppets, robots or any other devices that you are going to use to be the same dimensions as the original creatures...That allows us to see if the hoax can be done...To recruit a small boy to walk in the same path as the creatures was a insult to my work. Also, to create a robot thats 5 feet tall and to compare it to the 2 feet tall creatures again was an insult..Now, the wooded area...again, an insult to paranormal work...this is what it has come down to...lets hoax and lie to make great TV....These folks are not Paranormal investigators and therefor should not be doing a show like this...I knew what kind of a show this was so I warned Jose, the owner of the house and the original video about what was coming his way..and That's why he did not give access to the show on taking the original video....for fear they would mock him...I was right....
