Is Fresno High's Royce Hall haunted?
There have been rumors for years that Fresno's Royce Hall, which was built in 1922, is haunted. Stories have been told over the years of a janitor that fell to his death sometime in the 1930's. There have been reports of hearing whistling in the lobby when there is no one else around as well as seeing a shadowy figure on the north stair case. People have also claimed to see the janitor at an upstairs window, staring down at them as they walk by.
There have also been reports of an uneasy presence being felt in the teacher's lounge while others have heard footsteps and the sound of keys jingling in the stage area late at night. As the witnesses walked further they heard whistling and the lights flickered. Having heard of the stories already, needless to say they quickly got the hell out of there.
It's hard to say if these stories are true or not, as it seems that almost any school with an auditorium seems to be haunted. Still, there are so many different stories that have the same elements there may be some truth behind it. Whatever the case may be, the stories definitely add to the folklore of Fresno.

In Royce Hall, I would see lights flickering on and off, and the only way a light could turn on is if there was someone there because the lights have motion sensors. I've had classes in both rooms in Royce Hall, and in C-30, the lights were known to constantly flicker on and off in the office.
As for on stage, I've often seen shadowy figures walking down the stairs to get underneath the stage. Also, one day, a friend and I were at the school early to set up for the tech rehearsal for one of our shows, and as we were going to turn on a light on the stage, we heard a cough. We were a bit frightened, but figured the head janitor was there. We later found out we were the only two in Royce Hall.
These are only a few of the many strange occurrences that I have encountered in Royce Hall.

Though it doesn't seem very harmful, I do say to stay away from it as much as you can since you don't know what it is capable of. And, I've heard the typical stories of a student hanging them self on top of the flag pole and committing suicide but haven't experienced anything of that myself, so I'm assuming that's fabricated as well.
